The most important post?

Net Neutrality will determine the future of the Internet - for us all.

Today, when you accessed the Internet you took a lot for granted.  You assumed you'd be able to access this site, to read this post.  You assumed it would be fast.  You assumed you'd be able to access the services you wanted like streaming video and the ability to send instant messages etc, anytime you like.

What makes all this possible?  You got it.  Net Neutrality.  A principle that allows for a free, open Internet...the one we all take for granted.  The one that soon, might not exist.

Ideas on this issue worth sharing:

"Allowing broadband carriers to control what people see and do online would fundamentally undermine the principles that have made the Internet such a success...A number of justifications have been created to support carrier control over consumer choices online; none stand up to scrutiny."
- Vint Cerf [PDF] Google Chief Internet Evangelist and Co-Developer of the Internet Protocol

"The neutral communications medium is essential to our society. It is the basis of a fair competitive market economy. It is the basis of democracy, by which a community should decide what to do. It is the basis of science, by which humankind should decide what is true. Let us protect the neutrality of the net."
- Tim Berners-Lee Inventor of the Web

The democratization of information is something we all have a vested interest in.  Something we can all get behind.  For innovation, for the little guy, for freedom.

What should you do now?  Spread the word, get involved, save the Internet.
